Frequently Asked Pool Care Questions

The questions that come up most often, with links to the articles that go deeper.

How often should a Texas pool be serviced?

Weekly through the swimming season is the usual answer here. Heat, heavy use and storm debris push chemistry out of range far faster than the same pool would drift in cooler months, so a fortnightly schedule that works elsewhere tends not to hold in a Brazos Valley summer.

My water is balanced but still cloudy. What am I missing?

Usually circulation rather than chemistry. If the pump is losing flow or the filter is loaded, the water is not passing through often enough to clear. Our article on pool turnover covers how to work out whether your run time is actually enough.

Why does my pool smell strongly of chlorine?

That smell is chloramines, the spent product of chlorine reacting with sweat, sunscreen and organics. It means chlorine is being used up faster than it is replaced, so the pool needs shocking rather than less chlorine. The summer chemistry guide explains it.

Do you serve my town?

We are based in Washington, TX and cover the Brazos Valley, including Brenham, Navasota and College Station. If you are near the edge of that, call and ask rather than guessing.
